Vanbursta Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I think so, as far as I am aware the supplying garage is subject to the sale of goods act and unless they specificaly told you it didn't work in the first place they are obliged to repair it (or refund the purchase price and give your old car back) as by implication you were led to believe it was working. - Go for it, the aircon is a common fault with the Galaxy so get it fixed whilst they are paying for it as it can be very expensive. Welcom to the forum and the best of luck with the aircon / garage. Quote
anadin Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 if they said they would pay then they should :D why dont you believe them :) ;) Quote
BIGRUPE01 Posted September 13, 2006 Author Report Posted September 13, 2006 Hi all thanks for the reply . the garage told me that there was no gas in at all ? he said thats funny? :) but i do not know what to think has the car been in a smash :D or am i thinking to fear in to it as for the garage i got the car from said that they will pay for it all ;) :D :D :D thank god Quote
NikpV Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 has the car been in a smash :) not indicated unless other signs are present - leaky air con is very common - poll on here indicates that half the peeps here have trouble, probably a leaky pipe, evaporator etc - glad the garage agreed to pay ;) Quote

jkspoff Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Hi, welcome to the forum, as mentioned previously the majority of Galaxy/Sharan owners have had expensive air conditioning failures, usually resulting from broken compressors, leaking condensors, leaking pipes etc, but is always fixable, I recommend that you purchase an after market warranty for around Quote

marinabrid Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 ITS A TDI. look under the passenger side rear floor outside underneath the car, you should see a samll exhust pipe like a scooter use to have it comes from the booster heater, it has water pipes going into it and out and a small fuel pipe. in cold weather it fires up from cold and assists the engine in getting the water for the heater hot quicker, you should hear it a whining whistling sound means all is well clouds of smoke or no noise not well.after turning engine off it runs for a few miniutes like a jet engine cooling down, if not working et them to fix it and dont let em off the hook. its on so it wants to work.in warmer weather there is a way to make it work by bridging a sensor, come back for info if you want to do this the heaters are Quote
Dave-G Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Warranty direct has sorted my AC compressor @ Quote
Guest bigal Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Yeah cheers daveg i'll let you know. We had a letter from warranty direct today saying the problem was there before we took out the cover, this is according to the engineers report from the garage. My wife has spoken to the garage and they say its a load of c**p, they stated that the problem was a "sudden failure" not wear and tear. Warranty direct couldnt be bothered to send someone out to look at it and now the car is all but fixed (with there consent that if we pursued the matter they wouldnt use this as an excuse). We have had the garage save the parts and they say they will back us all the way and recommended we take warranty direct to court. So i dont know who to claim from now. Sorry for the ramble and hijacking this post. Cheers Alex Quote
